There exists a common misconception that becoming a
millionaire is right around the corner, and all anyone needs is the next
great idea. A great idea can net huge success, but transitioning from
idea to plausible product or service is a vastly complicated process.
The product design and development phase can take many months or even
years if not managed correctly. Even the best of ideas can stagnate in
the development phase. It is important for a company to deliver
impressive results in a timely manner.
Because time directly translates to wages,
reaching projected goals during product design and engineering becomes
paramount to success. When a design becomes delayed for one reason or
another, everyone involved loses momentum. Both the client and
development team will begin to perform less and less productively. The
most effective way to jump start a delayed project is to bring in a
group of knowledgeable and experienced professionals to reinvigorate the
idea and deliver results in a timely manner.
Even when the idea is still fresh and things seem
to be running smoothly, stumbling blocks are appearing constantly.
Almost any team without years of experience will not deliver results as
quickly as possible without cutting corners. Comparing most development
teams with a group of technical professionals almost is not fair. A well
oiled and experienced team is a magical thing, and can provide results
as fast as possible. From general time strategies to excellent and
extremely informative engineer drawings, 15 years of design and drafting
success goes a long way.
Companies also are almost never staffed correctly
for a new idea. New ideas can be based of the companies comfort zone,
but can also reside in fields of study outside past precedence. Hiring
new staff can take time and cost a good amount. This can discourage
exploration of the great idea, possibly missing out on a great new
product line or direction for the company. When exploring a new branch
of research, companies should consider hiring an outside team to support
the project. By doing this, companies ensure the idea will be explored
by professionals, without having to hire new personnel and staff.
Even a lone inventor can greatly benefit from the
aid of an experienced design team. The great invention exists perfectly
in the mind of the inventor, but is not easily translated into the
physical realm. Having a great 3D mechanical design can be difference
between getting the investment needed to see an invention flourish, and
watching a great idea die in a notebook in the corner of the room.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Our industrial design affiliates can offer a fresh perspective to
existing concepts or established products that are ready to be updated.
We will work closely with your team to provide plenty of concept choices
to give you get exactly what you have in mind. For example, if you are
looking for a second round of funding, photo-realistic renderings and
working prototypes can show investors that you are on the right track.
PRODUCT CONCEPTS
The selection of the correct concept is critical to the success of
any given product development effort. We utilize industrial research,
competitive product research, technical software tools for early
analysis and visualization, and formalized concept evaluation techniques
to insure that an informed product concept results.
Before we attempt to start product concept development of any type we
first get educated: By you, your customers, your current suppliers, your
competitors, and any other place that we can learn about your industry.
We use formalized techniques to turn the education, information, and
ideas that we collect into concrete product concepts. Concepts are
supported early on with our software tools to get a strong feel for a
concept's reaction to a number of potential situations. Our concept
generation phase also collects the types of information that make
detailed design and engineering easier, faster, and less uncertain.
PRODUCT DESIGN
Ideas don’t make the product come to fruition. It takes hard work to
an idea into reality. Hard core engineering supported with the right
tools and the right product development processes are what it takes to
make your product a reality.
By employing solid modeling early in the design cycle allows us to
accurately solve detrimental issues quickly. Additionally, we can
analyze parts more accurately in the context of a realistic assembly.
Analysis can be performed directly on the computer during the design
cycle reducing the effective time of product development.
2D DETAIL DRAWINGS
We use associative solid modeling software, which keeps our 2D
documentation in sync with our latest solid models. Automatically
generates *.DWG or *.DXF files for users of AutoCAD or other CAD
systems. Since most of our projects end up in production the value of
having an accurate and up to date documentation package at the end of
the project cannot be overstated.
3D SOLID MODELING
Design and Development is an extremely
complicated and involved process. Describing and rendering a thought as
a physical model correctly takes a combination of precise skill and
knowledge. That physical model is an integral part of the manufacturing
process and holds a position of importance for designers. A high quality
3D rendering of a design allows clients and employees to easily
understand and visualize the dynamics of the assignment.
Two dimension drafting and design software has
existed for quite some time now. Most design firms have a large archive
of designs. these designs are almost exclusively legacy files, or groups
of 2D files showing the dimensions and constraints of individual
products. These files were necessary for older manufacturing processes
and classic development phases. With the advent of multiple access
computer controlled manufacturing devices, having a three dimensional
model is paramount for quick and efficient production. Conversion from
classic 2D design files to 3D is a difficult and somewhat complicated
process without proper knowledge and experience. Updating older designs
from 2D files can yield amazing results for a company. It can allow them
to broaden the manufacturing process and easily evolve or improve the
design. Having 3D files also means that interaction between parts and
designs can be seen clearly and easily.
Even hand drawn designs can be modeled in three
dimensions. Years of experience and success allow the modeling experts
to replicate the design in question with exact precision in three
dimensions. This process can even be used for items that have been
manufactured for so long that designs no longer exist in the original
format. Because employees can come and go, specifications and plans can
be lost over time. Modeling a product through software is the best
options for companies that want to document or upgrade older, classic
designs.
The modeling process can work both ways, too.
Having a rough, total concept design is a major stepping stone in the
design process. With a prototype or concept modeled in 3D, the next
logical step is to define all of the dimensions explicitly. If perhaps a
project was running behinds schedule, acquiring accurate and
professional 2D layouts of the 3D concept sketch would allow the
development process to continue moving forward. These drawings can be
the the last step in the design phase and allow manufacturing to begin.
Modeling and design representation tools require
an individual with a large library of knowledge relating to the tools
and processes of the software. Companies can often have an entire
division of technical individuals whose sole purpose is to model
designs. By using a third party to efficiently and correctly represent
the designs in both 2D and 3D would allow the development team to focus
on constraints and specifications. This also means that the firm doesn't
need to hire a dedicated modeler. Working with individuals who have
years of experience lets the company represent the product as a total,
professional package, and keeps them on the cutting edge of a constantly
evolving industry.
